TMI?

QuiltCon is getting closer & closer & the host, The Modern Quilt Guild, is hosting a link party.

So let's see 5 things you might not know about me .... Some random bits you've already learned: I collect wedding cake brides & grooms; Shug & I sail a 14 foot catamaran; my Mom has Alzheimer's; I love my social media.

Five more things?!?

Well, (1) fabric & sewing have always been in my life. The first thing I remember sewing was this little outfit for my Pepper doll.

(2) My hair has gotten really long! I don't really like it & I'm sure it is not flattering but I just don't know what to do with it. All I need is a muu-muu, 3 cardigans, scuff slippers & a cackle to officially be a Crazy Old Lady! (3) I work at a natural science museum. Mostly it is just a job, just with more T-Rex, polar bears & mummies! (4) We don't have children & we don't refer to our cats as "fur babies". (5) I'm trying to get healthy & fit -- again! -- this year. It needs to be a way of life, not a program & it gets really hard the older you get.

Are you going to QuiltCon? I hope so! I'd love to meet you in person!

That's a great pic Beth!

So, if I take my kids to the museum sometime where can I find you?

Oh Beth, Seeing you sitting there smiling makes me wish I was going to quilt con. You long hair looks great! I'm cackling at the crazy lady muu muu comment, I think I'd be a good candidate for that.

I'm right there with you on the lifestyle changes. Now ... or never! And your hair ... how I envy it. It's BEAUTIFUL and you're so pretty.

Your Pepper doll reminds me very much of my Penny Bright doll. It's the doll my Mom tried to placate me with rather than get me the mature looking Barbie I longed for. While I really liked my Penny Bright, I LOVED the Barbie my Mom eventually gave in and got me one Christmas. Well, she didn't actually get me a Barbie. She got me Barbie's friend, Midge, who she felt was more wholesome looking. Maybe because she had curly brown hair and freckles. After that I got Scooter, Tutti, Francie, Casey, and Allan. It wasn't until I was 12 that my Grandma gave me a real Barbie (a brunette, not a blonde), which I loved so much I enshrined her in a green tinfoil lined shoebox that I hung on my wall for all my bedroom visitors to admire.

Wedding cake brides and grooms? How did that start?
