I neglected to get a proper photo of the corduroy quilt that I finished up back in January. So here it is --

tied corduroy quilt

As soon as I got my scrap swap partner's scraps, I very happily and eagerly got to work and finished that project. It is a small finish, just a pillow cover, but a finish all the same. I perhaps shouldn't be showing it until I reveal it to its owner, but I really like it and want to show it off.

My 3rd finish this year was begun and finished this month. I made it for 2 reasons: first, to have across the foot of the bed during our brief, but sometimes chilly, Gulf Coast winters; secondly, I hoped to enter it to possibly hang in the Modern Quilt Guild's exhibition at this year's Quilt Festival. But, it is far too BORING!!! In my mind's eye it was interesting and edgy, but in reality it didn't measure up. The quilting doesn't show, the fabrics are kind of bland, it just turned out flat. Well, it will still keep our toes warm when it is cold and damp. They can't all be winners, right?

Your corduroy quilt looks fantastic! I like your other finishes too. I would NOT call that last one boring or flat! I hope you'll enter it.

I love these three finishes!! The corduroy quilt is stunning!! I love the Geese Tree cushion. I think the Modern Edge quilt is more interesting than you can see right now because you've been working on it so much. One day you'll see it with fresh eyes for the fabulous quilt it is. I like the way the quilting is wavy to balance out the straight edges of the blocks.
