Last finish of the year

And just in time for cold weather -- well, cold for us.

This little quilt --  in spite of all the stars, it just isn't very stellar, in spite of all the birds, it just hasn't got wings. I guess I'll say it has a Good Personality!

I loved the 2.5 inch rolls from Connecting Threads; I have loved for a very long time the fabric I used on the back; I was eager to try making a jelly roll race quilt; this was my first time to attempt the walking foot quilted braids. But sometimes the product is less than the sum of the parts. It was fun to make & quilt though, & it will still keep us warm even if it won't be winning any beauty contests.

And it is starting to grow on me. :-)

have just made one of these quilts. looked at your quilting and thought 'wow'. Then looked further down the page and thought 'double wow, that is how you did the quilting'. Am going to learn thru trial and error how to quilt in 2013 and this will be one of the quilts I will start with. Thank you for the inspiration and hope you don't mind me thinking/using the quilting design.

I think you've just been looking at it too much so you're not as excited about this quilt as you should be, This quilt is really wonderful!! I love the movement in the strips, the quilting is brilliant and the backing is fabulous.

It has a lot of personality and it's a beautiful quilt! I love the texture of the quilting with the vertical lines of the piecing and the little dots.

I think you should get that "ugly duckling" quilt out of your sight ... and I know just where it should go. Email me for my address when you're ready, you silly goose!

Don't you think the lovely wavy quilting gives it wonderful movement? Really, I think it's a beaut!
